He was in the film alongside He starred with Tanya Roberts in Sheena, a film about a female Tarzan that earned five Razzie Award nominations. in Sheena, an animated film about the female version of Tarzan which earned 5 Razzie Nominations for the Razzie Award.
Wass was born in Lakewood, Ohio (just west of Cleveland). He was raised in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, (about 20 mi (32 km) west of Chicago) and graduated from Glenbard West High School there in 1970. He attended Goodman School of Drama at the Art Institute of Chicago (now at DePaul University).
In 1976, Wass made his Broadway debut in the original Broadway production of Grease, playing Danny Zuko.
His first wife actor Janet Margolin, died of cancer of the ovary in 1993. The couple had two kids. He had a second spouse, Nina, was a producer.
