Taana Gardner is one of the most popular and richest Singer who was born on September 3, 1960 in Newark, New Jersey, United States. Taana Gardner (born on September 3 1960) is an American disco and post-disco artist who made her name via West End Records from 1979 until the present. She was also a participant in The Aural Exciters.

Despite having an impressive background at such a young stage of life, it turned out to be a bit of a chance that she was a part of dance music. Songwriter and producer Kenton Nix wrote a track, “Work That Body,” which required vocals. The first version of the musical version of the track was reviewed and approved by Paradise Garage DJ Larry Levan as well Levan promptly brought Nix to West End (and part Paradise Garage) owner Mel Cheren. Cheren established Nix up, however Taana, the vocalist who had been supposed for recording the voice fell sick the day they were due to go to bed. Nix’s brother, who was working for the Gardner family’s father, called up the Gardner family that day — Thanksgiving Day in 1978 and invited Taana to come down. Taana was gracious and agreed to record her vocals, and was offered another gig that day, when members of Dr. Buzzard’s Original Savannah Band overheard her voice and requested Taana to perform on the album they were developing. (This record turned out to be Spooks in Space, a collaboration with the Aural Exciters, released on Ze.)

Gardner was able to step back from the limelight for a number of years to spend time with her family. 1985 was the year that saw the release of another Nix release, “Over You,” for the YES label. She released a track produced with Guy Vaughn & Shedrick Guy of FlyGuy Production Co-Produced by her at the same time to Next Plateau (“You can’t keep coming in and out of My Life”) as well as a cover version to the song by LaBelle “What Can I Do for You?” made it onto Elegal at the time of 1992. Then, in 1998 she joined in a duet with Nix as well as West End for “I’m Comin’.” The song was released four years later. West End issued the Anthology of a Diva compilation. Gardner has also offered her talents to numerous acts such as Kool & the Gang, Peabo Bryson, Edwin Starr along with Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes.
