Uskova is a native of Moscow into a family of computer programmers. The father of her, Anatoly Uskov, who is a Russian researcher in the field of computer science, was the head of the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at the Scientific Research Institute for System Analysis of the Russian Academy of Sciences, creator of the first world champion chess game Kaissa.
