Liezl is survived by her husband, actor Albert Martinez, and her 3 children. She is the daughter of former celebrity couple Amalia Fuentes and Romeo Vasquez. Liezl was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer in 2008, and with Stage 4 lung cancer in 2011.
MANILA, Philippines — More than six years after she was diagnosed with breast cancer, actress Anna Lisa “Liezl” Sumilang-Martinez died in her sleep at 6:15 yesterday morning at the Medical City in Pasig City where she was rushed last week after suffering a seizure. She would have turned 48 on March 27.
