Jason Matheson is one of the most popular and richest Film Critic who was born on August 5, 1974 in Michigan City, United States. The spring of 2000 saw Matheson made the move to KMSP-TV as the executive producer for “The Buzz”, a popular and long-running daily entertainment program that covered national and local entertainment. After a few months at KMSP and he was put to the front of the camera as a film reviewer for the channel’s recently established morning news show “Good Day Minnesota.” In his time with FOX 9 Matheson has been interviewed by celebrities such as: Ewan McGregor, Cher, Will Smith, Arthur Miller, Randy Jackson and numerous others. In a fire trial moment, his first day’s task for KMSP was to visit Paisley Park to produce a segment with the local rock legend Prince. He also appeared on numerous FOX 9 newscasts, in a variety of roles. There was a weekly segment titled “The Must List,” which highlights the most popular things in the world of entertainment. Matheson is popular as a host of various events, such as his participation in the Regional Emmy Awards, The Miss Minnesota Pageant and Battle of the Bands.
In 2010 he was recognized as to be one of “40 under 40,” the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal’s list for young community leaders. In a matter of minutes after The Minnesota Jaycees named Jason one of the 10 Outstanding Young Minnesotans, an distinction previously reserved for Walter Mondale and Dave Winfield as well as others.
In April 2014, Matheson returned to WCCO-TV in the 5:00 PM newscast with his segment, “Trending Now.”
In August 2015, Matheson launched The Jason Show, a daily entertainment talk show airing in the Twin Cities. As the show grew in popularity, it expanded to additional markets outside the Twin Cities including Eau Claire, WI and La Crosse, WI. In June 2016, The Jason Show started a 4-week national test, airing in Phoenix, Dallas, and Los Angeles.
On 15 January 2009 Matheson created the show The Weekend Buzz on KMSP FOX 9 and its sister station WFTC My29, a half-hour show that includes celebrity interviews, film reviews, and releases from entertainment. Matheson anchors the show as well as serves as the show’s Executive Producer.
