David Sedaris is one of the most popular and richest Novelist who was born on December 26, 1956 in Johnson City, New York, United States. Author of humorous tales include The “SantaLand Diaries,” often were broadcast at times on National Public Radio. He is particularly well-known for his New York Times bestselling essay collections such as Naked (1997), Me Talk Pretty One Day (2000) and You are engulfed in flames (2008).
Bob Hope also performed comedy over the radio. also did radio comedy.
After graduating from Jesse O. Sanderson High School in Raleigh, Sedaris briefly attended Western Carolina University before transferring to and dropping out of Kent State University in 1977. In his teens and twenties, David dabbled in visual and performance art. He describes his lack of success in several of his essays.
He moved to Chicago in 1983 and graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1987. (He did not attend Princeton University, although he spoke fondly of doing so in “What I Learned,” a comic baccalaureate address delivered at Princeton in June 2006.)
Sedaris was born in Binghamton, New York to Lou and Sharon Sedaris, and he along with the five of his siblings (including comedian/actress Amy Sedaris) grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina. He later moved in with his long-term companion, Hugh Hamrick.
