They started the Madison Aquatic Club in Madison, WI, as a coach-owned team. Shane and Carly are parents to Clint Murray and Piper Autumn Ryan, who were born in 2016.
Piper finished 5th in 200-meter freestyle at the 2004 U.S Olympic Team Trials. Piper also finished 6th in 400-meter freestyle.
